The Self-Defense course is a great introduction to the fundamentals, principles and concepts of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Professor Xavier teaches proven self-defense techniques and proper use of leverage, timing and weight distribution so that you will learn to feel in control of potentially threatening situations and how to protect yourself and your family from both unarmed and armed attackers.
If you would like to learn how to defend yourself but are not interested in sport jiu-jitsu or progression through a traditional belt ranking system, this program is for you. Professor Xavier has developed a curriculum that focuses on the self-defense aspects of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu geared towards teaching the most effective techniques to protect yourself and your family in real-life scenarios. Our self-defense program will enable you to feel in control of potentially threatening situations and increase your awareness and self-confidence. This program is personalized to meet your specific needs. We will adapt the curriculum to your physical limitations and work with you to build up your self-confidence, technique, strength and conditioning so that you reach all of the goals you have set for yourself. The self-defense program is a highly recommended way to start learning the techniques applied in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. Our self-defense program is offered in private lesson, semi-private and group format.
